9:00 am to 11:30 -- Check-In (You may check in before or immediately after 10:00 Mass)
10:00 am -- Celebrate Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church
11:00 am -- Introduction to Pilgrimage at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church
11:30 -- Presentation of Catholic History of La Garita at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church
12:30 pm -- Lunch
1:00 pm -- Contemplative prayer time at the St. John Paul II Rosary Walk, San Juan Bautista Monument & Carnero Creek Cemetery.
3:00 pm -- Conclude & Drive to San Luis, Colorado
6:00 pm -- Dinner in San Luis
Sunday, September 10 – San Luis
8:00 am -- Breakfast at Sangre de Cristo Heritage Center
9:00 am -- Presentation of Catholic History of San Luis at Sangre de Cristo Heritage Center
10:30 am -- Celebrate Mass at the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church
12:00 pm -- Walk up the hill and pray the Stations of the Cross
1:00 pm -- Lunch at the top of the hill of the Stations of the Cross near the Shrine
1:30 pm -- Closing prayers and Pilgrimage Closing Comments in the Shrine Chapel
Transportation is not provided. Participants must use their own form of transportation to the Pilgrimage at the San Juan Catholic Spiritual Center in La Garita, Colorado and to the Stations of the Cross Shrine in San Luis, Colorado.
Travel from La Garita to San Luis is 82 miles and takes approximately 1.5 hours via Highway 285, 160, and 159.

Saturday, September 9: Lunch is provided in at the San Juan Catholic Spiritual Center in La Garita; Dinner is provided in San Luis at the Sangre de Cristo Church facility.
Sunday, September 10: Breakfast is provided at the Sangre de Cristo Heritage Center; Lunch is provided at the Stations of the Cross Shrine.
Meals are simple. Please note that we are unable to accommodate restricted diets.
Participants g y must be able to walk short distances and climb some stairs; some of the sites are not wheelchair accessible.

The San Juan Catholic Spiritual Center in La Garita has sidewalks for visitors, however, gravel paths are the only access between the parking lot to the church and between the Monument and the Cemetery.
In San Luis, travel up the hill for the Stations of the Cross is a more strenuous walk. The path is a combination of sidewalk, asphalt, and gravel. It is not recommended for those with wheelchairs or physical limitation. However, there is a road to drive up to the Shrine Chapel. Volunteers from San Luis will provide direction.
The weather in the San Luis Valley during early September can range from very warm (70-80 degrees) to chilly (60 degrees). Please be prepared with warm clothing, comfortable shoes, hats, sun screen. Walking sticks may be helpful.
